Masters of The Culture of Death - America's Freedom of Speech Under Attack

There is no doubt that President Obama can give a great speech. He is not the first tyrant to appear on the world stage to do so. The best known one was the one that our fathers destroyed, in the 1940’s. He sought to take the world by force, but he first had to mold his society into his own image, just as Barack Obama is doing in America, today. So, Wednesday night, just as everyone expected, President Obama used rhetoric as only he knows to do, but those who love America were not swayed. Nevertheless, he has spoken about his health care plan 27 times before, and unfortunately he didn’t say anything new.

With or without a public option or co-ops, the Democrats’ government-run health care experiment is still risky because it creates mandates, regulations and bureaucracies that would destroy the patient/doctor relationship of privacy.


Please do not think that Republicans are not complicit in the evil charade. Even John McCain, whom I respect a lot, said he simply wanted to tweak HR 3200 and pass it. The American people didn’t want another speech, they wanted another plan. Author and Radio host, Paul Ibbetson said it better than I. “The American people don’t want a watered-down bill, they want to have healthcare along with all the freedoms that were afforded us by a righteous God and which no man can legally or morally take away.”

President Obama has not been able to get a bill passed simply because he cannot get agreement among his own Congressional Democrats for his government-run health care experiment. That is because those weak-kneed traitors know that they will
be voted right out of office in 2010 if they vote for it. This same future applies to any Republican usurpers of power who seek to add their approval to this eugenic approach to population reduction, citizen control, monetary redistribution, abortion on demand, assisted suicide, national medical boards and a utilitarian view of longevity.


The problem with the HR 3200 is the bill itself. It could never stand on its merits if it appeared before this Supreme Court. In that I have a sliver of trust. President Obama knows that his bill will change the very fabric of the nation. He has not prescribed reform with this bill. He has, in reality, done what he pledged when he pronounced in November 2008 that there were only five days before he would fundamentally change the United States of America. Thusly, what we see infecting every level of the government is not the reformation of our health care system. In fact, it will represent the full transformation of a free America into a slave of the Culture of Death.

It is not easy to enslave a free people. For almost three hundred years, we have done our dreams, lived our hopes and spent and made as much as we wanted. Now, this blatant force of corruption has taken the country by a legal storm. The only way Obama can hope to overtake the people, those rebellious Nazi types, as Speaker Pelosi and many others on the left like to call us, is to limit speech, control the media and make people read what he wants them to absorb. Obama's Ministry of Propaganda:
A Looming Threat To America

At long last, the left’s relentless assault on America’s honored traditions and values is being unashamedly and resolutely resisted by “we the people”.

At this juncture, the prospect for swift passage of the misnamed “Employee Free Choice Act” (aka “card check”) and HR 3200 (aka “Obamacare”) are dim. Even “Cap and Trade” (aka “cap ‘n tax”), the centerpiece of leftwing socialist engineering, is running up against a rising tide of skepticism and suspicion.


But, now is not the time for complacency or misplaced celebration. Our being lulled into a false sense of security and accomplishment could very well spell disaster for the Republic. Common sense and responsible governance in D.C. cannot be restored unless grassroots Americans continue to push back as resolutely and tenaciously as that of the well-funded and well-organized socialist revolutionaries on the left.


Going along merely to get along or to simply avoid spurious character assassination is shortsighted and, ultimately, suicidal. Without digging in for the long haul, any political gains will be ephemeral.

Bearing in mind Thomas Jefferson’s assertion that “the firmness with which the people have withstood the…abuses of the press, the discernment they have manifested between truth and falsehood, show that they may safely be trusted to hear everything true and false and to form a correct judgment between them”, it is imperative that we keep our eyes and ears on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) so that “we the people” may continue to exercise our right to freely discriminate between that which is true and false in the press, on the internet and on the airwaves.


To effectively eliminate opposing viewpoints in the public broadcasting realm, for a long time now the left has striven to muzzle conservative talk radio. Internet and satellite radio are also in their crosshairs. Up to now, the left’s usurpations in this regard have been purposely incremental, this to avoid detection and popular resistance. But with the Obama Administration’s cynical appointment of Mark Lloyd as the FCC Chief Diversity Czar, the left’s manifest effort to snuff out opposing viewpoints is on the fast track. In one fell swoop, the White House has taken the first step to brazenly establish America’s first Ministry of Propaganda.


Mark Lloyd, a dyed-in-the-wool Marxist-Socialist, who has openly praised Hugo Chavez’s media takeover in Venezuela, intends to replace the politically sensitive Fairness Doctrine with the principle of “local broadcast diversity of programming, news and commentary” in order to achieve the left’s unyielding goal to shut down opposing conservative and Christian viewpoints. For those who cherish their first amendment rights–freedom of expression in particular–Mark Lloyd’s appointment couldn’t be more ominous or alarming.


Like its conservative broadcast counterpart, liberal talk radio has relied upon listenership to determine its commercial viability. As a result of objective supply and demand market forces, liberal talk radio has continued to be a ratings and, therefore, commercial disaster. Enter Czar Lloyd to artificially remedy that shortcoming from on high.

A self-avowed black liberationist, Lloyd wants to effectively impose local broadcast content criteria to curtail and, ultimately, to silence conservative viewpoints. In effect, he is leading the left’s charge against our broadcasting freedom in order to achieve a strictly ideological outcome.

Knowing full well that successful liberal talk radio cannot survive on a broader scale without FCC circumvention of the free market, he is pushing the following principles of “localism” to achieve Team Obama’s socialist transformation of America:

1. Restore national caps on the number of commercial radio stations a single company is allowed to own.
2. Ensure greater local accountability over radio licensing.
3. Require radio companies which fail to meet local public broadcasting
standards to pay compulsory fees to support National Public Radio (NPR).



These principles are in line with Obama’s expressed support for media ownership caps, network neutrality and increased minority ownership of broadcasting and print outlets. These Orwellian principals of speech control are also strongly supported by the usual culprits, among them being Senators John Kerry and Dick Durbin, and Reps John Dingell, Dennis Kucinich and Louise Slaughter.

Essentially, listenership determines ratings and advertising revenues. Czar Lloyd’s intervention in the marketplace will ensure that ratings are rendered irrelevant. By imposing equal time, broadcasters will be forced to air unpopular and commercially unviable liberal talk shows. This will force broadcasters to increase advertising rates for conservative programming to compensate for liberal talk failure, or to pull the plug on both liberal and conservative talk shows altogether, thus accomplishing Obama’s mission of squelching opposing ideological viewpoints.
But Czar Lloyd has indicated his interest in going much further than this. He is not only pushing for “diversity in local ownership” of stations, but is actually proposing that private radio broadcasters be required to pay licensing fees equal to their total operating costs in order to benefit—get this–public radio broadcasting, already a bastion of liberalism.


So, folks, we have our work cut out for us in the months and years ahead to prevent our Republic’s being torn apart by these radical leftist conspiracies and machinations.

In closing, Czar Lloyd, who joins other Marxist appointments in the Obama White House, earned his doctorate in jurisprudence, and was once a Senior Fellow at the extremely liberal, George Soros-funded, Center for American Progress (CAP). NewsBusters reports that he is “virulently anti-capitalist, almost myopically racially fixated and exuberantly pro-regulation.” And, like all other Obama Czars, he is, unfortunately, entirely unaccountable to Congress, the people and the Constitution. He is accountable only to our Socialist-in-Chief, President Barry Obama.

If this alarming trend toward tyranny and national socialism continues with White House sanctioning and direction, impeachment—or worse–cannot be far off. And the sooner, the better.

Diversity Czar Threatens Free Speech

1st Amendment: Mark Lloyd, a disciple of Saul Alinsky and fan of Hugo Chavez, wants to destroy talk radio and says free speech is a distraction. The new FCC diversity "czar" says Venezuela is an example we should follow.

When Mark Lloyd was appointed July 29 as the chief diversity officer at the Federal Communications Commission, a nation focused on ObamaCare and a deteriorating economy took little notice. But as angry constituents flood town hall meetings and call in to talk radio, a man dedicated to silencing them sits at the right hand of the president.

They share a common hero — Saul Alinsky — who wrote the community organizer's bible, "Rules for Radicals." It speaks of confrontation or, as candidate Obama put it, of "getting in their faces" as a way to obtain power, not from the people or for the people, but over the people.

Lloyd has written that we make too much of the constitutionally guaranteed freedoms of speech and the press — for "the purpose of free speech is warped to protect global corporations and block rules that would promote democratic governance."

We thought we were democratically governed. We thought we could vote as we choose after a vigorous and open debate. Once the major networks served as information gatekeepers controlling what we saw and heard. Now talk radio, the Internet and cable news have enhanced democracy by promoting the free flow of information and discourse. Lloyd wants to stop all that.



Fox News host Glenn Beck has done yeoman work in exposing this threat posed by Mr. Lloyd. He points out that in his 2006 book, "Prologue to a Farce: Communication and Democracy in America," Lloyd wrote: "It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press. . . . This freedom is all too often an exaggeration. . . . At the very least, blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination of other communications policies."


Lloyd wants to restore local and national caps on the ownership of commercial radio stations and ensure greater local accountability over radio licensing. The kicker is he would also require owners who refuse to give up profitable air time in the name of "localism" to pay a fee to support public broadcasting.



He proposes using the existing FCC "localism" requirement, which can mean anything from running more public service announcements to putting Janeane Garofalo on after Rush Limbaugh. Local community organizers would be encouraged to harass conservative stations by filing complaints with the FCC.


He essentially proposes extorting money from broadcasters who have the audacity to air the likes of Beck, Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham, all of whom have competed in the marketplace of ideas and won in the ratings, and use it to fund those outfits nobody wants to listen to — like NPR and Air America.



As Lloyd writes, the "part of our proposal that gets the dittoheads (Rush Limbaugh fans) upset is our suggestion that the commercial radio station owners either play by the rules or pay." Or worse.

The FCC could then say they had enough justification to revoke a station's license if they didn't comply or pay a fee. In true Alinsky style, shut them up by shutting them down.

Lloyd praises Hugo Chavez's "incredible revolution" in Venezuela and the way "Chavez began to take very seriously the media in his country" by imposing restraints on cable TV and revoking the licenses of more than 200 radio stations" that insufficiently toed the Chavez party line.

Lloyd long ago declared war on unbridled talk radio and cable news. He wrote that "our work was not simply convincing policy makers of the logic and morality of our arguments. We understood that we were in a struggle for power against an opponent, the commercial broadcasters."

When Mark Lloyd talks about diversity, it is not diversity of opinion. As in the '60s sci-fi series, "Outer Limits," his advice is to "sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear."
"If you wanted to destroy the infrastructure that holds our constitutional republic in place, how would you go about that? As with a controlled demolition you would need to dislodge the foundation from the bedrock where it is anchored and weaken the framework that holds the structure together. In practice, you would demolish the laws that support the legal and financial structure. Our constitutional republic would then collapse into its own footprint, meeting no resistance."
